Meet the Board
Tom Mullen
Artistic Director
He directed Creatives by Irvine Welsh and Don DeGrazia which went on to be nominate for Best New Musical at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He recently adapted and directed the world premiere of Trainspotting, USA at Theatre Wit. The Chicago Sun Times hailed the show as "Riveting and burn the floor theatre!" Tom directed the off-Broadway musical Tomorrow Morning by Laurence Mark Wythe at the York Theatre which was nominated for an off-Broadway Alliance Award and Outer Critic Circle nomination for best off-Broadway musical, Tom directed, Joe DiPietro’s FMen for Bailiwick Chicago and the US premiere of the U.K. musical Departure Lounge at the Royal George Theatre. Tomorrow Morning, Victory Gardens Greenhouse Theater, (Jeff Award Winner - Best Musical Midsize) Love/Perfect Now Change, Noble Fool Theatricals, JOE, Chicago Dramatist, Urinetown, Mercury Theatre, nominated for seven Jeff Awards, including Best Director and Best Musical. World premiere, What A Glorious Feeling, official selection, NY Musical Theatre Festival, Full Gallop, with Emmy winner Jill Larson and the world premiere of Wicked City. Associate director, Broadway revival, Sondheim's Company, Roundabout Theatre, NYC and The Rhythm Club, Signature Theatre, Washington D.C. National tours, The World Goes 'Round for Columbia Artists, adapted and directed Augusten Burroughs novel Sellevision, Ohio Theatre, Soho, NYC. Tom has assisted for Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disney Theatricals and teaches for Second City Comedy Theatre. In concert he’s produced and directed Grammy Winner, Oleta Adams, Tony-Winner, Sutton Foster and Emmy-Winner, Bea Arthur. Regional credits include: Forever Plaid, A Chorus Line, Betty's Summer Vacation, Nine, Closer than Ever and The 1940's Radio Hour. Currently developing the new musical, The Pines with the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. Tom studied theatre at Wayne State University and has his BA in Theatre Directing from Columbia College Chicago.
